Well that was fun! Both the Launch of the North Gateway Streetscape Project at Suydam Park, and a Laneway Naming Ceremony, were held on Sunday June 12th and a wonderful time was had by all in attendance.

Speakers included Councillor Joe Mihevc, BIA board chair Peter McClelland, Plant Architect Inc's Lisa Rapoport, and local resident, and laneway naming champion, Susan Q. Wilson.

We had the pleasure of having the wonderfully talented Michael Louis Johnson and The Red Rhythm as our inaugural band on the newly built community stage. They were truly perfect for the occasion with jazz music suited to young and old.

In addition to local residents, the families of each of the three people named on laneways were in attendance for the celebration - Bilton Lane, Andrew Hazlett Lane, and Lallie Haye Lane - and Lallie Haye herself was able to attend and participate. More photos of the event can be found here.
